Just thinking....

I hope and pray that you all are keeping Jesus in the very front of your mind this Christmas. What a thought that God would humble himself to send his son to die for US? plus be born in the lowest of the lowest of states.

OK so I thought I would share something with everyone!

We don't realize how short this life is.. Life is to short to worry about the vanity(Ecclesiastes 12:8) of this world,everything on this earth will pass away.

Is it really great to gain the whole world but lose your soul?(Matthew 16:26).

This world is emptiness,we should not be worrying about the things of this world,but be investing in eternal life with Christ.What a glorious moment it will be when God says well done,cause you sacrificed your whole life and forgot about things of this world but invested in eternity. Time is short,we want to get right with God NOW! Cause we don't know when it is going to be the end(James 4:14).

I ask you...have you left everything of this world behind for Christ, the things you love and enjoy doing , have you given it all up to invest in your eternal life. We may think well we have time to have fun and do what we enjoy now,and later on inn life I'll get closer to God,you aren't even promised tomorrow. The Lord could take you at anytime. We should want to do God's will and God says not to be of this world just in it.

Now don't just read this and go OK well I think my life is fine,really think about it.Think about the stuff you have,things you do,do they really honor and please God, we never want to make a mockery of God by the things we allow in our life that doesn't please HIM!!, and we always want to be witnesses for God. We want to please,Glorify and be in his will in everything. He is worthy....

our Babe and Dad

One thing about having a little one “later” in life- (since I had the older ones by the time I was 26 years old) is knowing and appreciating how quickly time flies and to enjoy each minute with these little developing souls. I sure do wish I had this wisdom when I was younger, but I didn’t. 

Our babe may not have the over energetic parents, that could run, jump and crawl, but he has the gracious, more calm more patient parents.

 

Here are photos of our Babe- painting with his daddy a train that we bought at hobby lobby for a $1! What a joy it was to see the two of them putting their minds together to paint this wooden train.

 

These are the times he will never forget!

So for the first time EVER I made a hat!! Our neighbors had just had a baby so I thought I would start off small. It turned out so cute!!! I hope it keeps her warm cause it looks like Texas is having a cold winter.

Running "The Race"

Hello, I am new at this so you all will have to bear with me a little bit. The other day I was listening to a sermon by Norm Wakefield, The founder, I believe, of the Spirit of Elijah ministries. He preached this sermon at a convention for young adults and their parents. The name of the sermon is "Run to Win" and it is from the "Teenager 101" set. My prayer is that God would show you, through me, what He showed me.

1 Corinthians 9:24-27(KJV)

" 24 Know ye not that they run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that you may obtain. 25 And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we are in corruptible. 26 I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air. 27 But I keep under my body and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway."

In verse 24 Paul tells that we have a race to run. This is of course an allegory for our lives. In 25, 26, and 27 he tells us that many people are in it for a prize. It is like a runner who's sponsor is known but not by everyone(God) and that racer when he wins only glorifies himself and makes no mention of his sponsor. If you were a runner how would you represent your sponsor? Would you not mention his name or would you let everyone know what he did for to help you get where you are?

Mr. Wakefield said that lots of people take this "race" as if it were a 100m sprint when in all actuality this "race" is a LAP race. The different phases in your life are the laps. One of the most important laps in this "race" is the teenage years. The decisions you make as a young adult effect the outcome of the "race".

As I was saying before about our sponsor, Our purpose in life is to bring glory to God no matter what, even if that means, we leave everything behind for God's reasons not ours.

The question is, how are you running "The Race"? How am I running "The Race"? And during this "race" do we just pass other racers who are struggling and tripping on themselves without falling ourselves? THINK about it.

Lord, help us. We know that we can't do it without you. Lord, help us to glorify you in this "race" of life. Help us to take this "race" a lap at a time instead of taking it at a dead sprint. Lord, I thank you that you never give up on us and that you never want us to stay the same. We love you, Lord, and we are thankful of your mercy and love towards us even though we are unworthy of it. I pray that this word would fall on good soil. Thank you, Lord, for giving me the words to say. Thank you. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

All praise be onto our Father in heaven, so merciful and gracious to His children. I am very grateful for the gift of the Lord's heritage--my children--that He has entrusted to me. I love these wonderful people and I am so blessed to read what they want to share with all on this blog.
May God give me wisdom and understanding to lead my family in His Truth and righteousness--no matter what! May our God in heaven bless my children and continue to guide them with His Holy Spirit. Also, I praise the Lord for such a wonderful, godly wife who shares this vision and burden with me. This certainly is what God uses to encourage me to rise up and be a man of God.

Hello! I'm trying out this new blog thing so its not going to be a long message hehe!! i just want to praise God for the work he is doing in me and my family!

Christmas?- what is it really?

I will share I am not a big Holiday fan. I am a Christ fan, but I am  not a fan of what this season always seems to be about: spending,sales, and presents. You read over and over and over again in people's blog, twitters, etc how they are struggling to buy presents. Why? 

Are we not to be celebrating HIM? This season some how has turn into a season of presents, instead of a season of THE ONE AND ONLY GREATEST GIFT OF ALL.  If I could wrap salvation in a box I would give this gift to people, because that is “truly” what  people need more than anything else.

This season is not suppose to be about the best present you get or give, or the shopping, or being sucked in by every Christmas bargain out there. It should be about HIM- celebrating his birth. A gift for us believers that is matchless!

 

Teaching the true meaning of this season is what we focus on. We want to make sure that our children know  who this season is about and what it all truly means.

We also know,  this is not the time of the year our Savior was born, and we also know that this was integrated into the church to counteract a pagan holiday.  Another important consideration!

 

Jesus says himself

Matthew 22:29

²⁹Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.

(now he was speaking of other things in this verse, but can’t it be applied to anything in our lives?) Yes!

We error because we do not know the scriptures, we do not read them enough, we do not study the true meaning of the words, and we do not exam things that we read, hear or even know as “tradition”.

 

There are pastors that state their is nothing wrong with “celebrating” Christmas. I agree- as long it is truly about Christ.

We do decorate a tiny bit, but for the most part, we focus on the nativity scene. We have a devotion each night that focus on each part of this precious scene. We spend time reading the word, singing, and praying: as each day gets closer and closer to the nativity  figure of baby Jesus (which you take out on Christmas day)! What a joyous day that is for all of us!  This year we will make a birthday cake for him(chocolate at little Duck’s request) and we will sing Happy birthday to our Savior!

 

Let’s us take time to remember Christ this season!
